Financial Aid
Investing in Your Future
Starting a career in the beauty industry is an exciting step. For many students and families, understanding how to pay for school is one of the biggest questions.
At Debutantes School of Beauty, financial aid is available to students who qualify for our Cosmetology and Esthetics programs. Our team works closely with each student to review their financial aid options and help them understand the full cost of their education before enrollment.
We believe students should feel confident and informed about their investment in education.
Federal Financial Aid
Students who qualify may be eligible for Federal Financial Aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Financial aid may include:
• Federal Pell Grants
• Federal Direct Student Loans
• Parent PLUS Loans (for dependent students)
Grants are typically based on financial need and do not have to be repaid, while loans must be repaid after leaving school.
Eligibility is determined through the FAFSA application and a review of your financial information.
How to Apply for Financial Aid
The first step is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
You can complete the FAFSA online at:
https://studentaid.gov
When filling out your FAFSA, be sure to include Debutantes School of Beauty’s federal school code:
042299
Once your FAFSA has been submitted, our financial aid team will be able to review your eligibility and prepare your financial aid estimate.
Financial Aid Advisement
Before enrolling, every student who applies for financial aid meets with our team for a Financial Aid Advisement Meeting.
During this meeting we will:
• Review your FAFSA results
• Explain what types of aid you may qualify for
• Break down the cost of your program
• Discuss payment options
• Answer any questions you or your family may have
Our goal is to make sure you fully understand your financial plan before signing an enrollment agreement.
Scholarships
Debutantes also offers a number of scholarship opportunities for eligible students.
Examples include:
• High School Completion Scholarships
• Commitment to Education Scholarships
• College Degree Scholarships
• Returning Student Scholarships
These scholarships can help reduce the cost of tuition for students who meet the eligibility requirements. You can view our scholarships HERE
Payment Options
In addition to financial aid, some students choose to combine aid with other payment options.
These may include:
• Monthly payment plans
• Scholarships
• Personal or family contributions
Our admissions team will help you explore the options available so you can choose a plan that works best for your situation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to complete the FAFSA to attend Debutantes?
No. Completing the FAFSA is not required to attend Debutantes School of Beauty. However, it is strongly encouraged for students who may need financial assistance.
The FAFSA determines eligibility for federal grants and student loans that can significantly reduce monthly payment amounts. Without financial aid, students would be responsible for the full tuition through private payment plans.
Our financial aid team will review your FAFSA results with you and help you understand the options available before enrollment.
How do I know if I qualify for financial aid?
Financial aid eligibility is determined after completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The FAFSA reviews several factors to determine eligibility, including:
• Household income
• Family size
• Age
• Whether you are considered a dependent or independent student
• Tax and financial information
Many students under the age of 24 are considered dependent students, which means FAFSA will also require financial information from a parent or guardian.
Students may be considered independent if they meet certain criteria, such as:
• Being 24 years old or older
• Being married
• Having a child or dependents you financially support
• Being a veteran or active military member
Independent students typically report only their own financial information on the FAFSA.
After you submit your FAFSA, our financial aid team will review your results and meet with you to explain your eligibility and what types of aid may be available.
Do I need my parents to complete the FAFSA if I live on my own?
Possibly. Living on your own does not automatically make you an independent student for FAFSA purposes.
If you are under 24 and do not meet one of the independent student criteria, you may still need to include your parent or guardian’s financial information on the FAFSA.
Our financial aid team can help explain what information will be required based on your situation.
Can I still get financial aid if my parents will not help pay for school?
This depends on your FAFSA dependency status.
If you are considered an independent student, you will only need to provide your own financial information on the FAFSA.
Students may be considered independent if they:
• Are 24 years old or older
• Are married
• Have a child or dependents they financially support
• Are a veteran or active member of the military
If you are considered a dependent student, the FAFSA requires financial information from a parent or guardian in order to determine eligibility for most federal financial aid programs.
If your parents choose not to provide their information, it may limit the types of aid you are eligible to receive.
Our financial aid team can help review your situation and explain the options available before enrollment.
Do I have to commit to the program before seeing my financial aid?
No. At Debutantes School of Beauty, we review financial aid options before enrollment so you understand the investment and available funding before making a final decision.
During your financial aid meeting, we will walk through your FAFSA results, explain your aid eligibility, and answer any questions you or your family may have.
When will I know how much financial aid I receive?
Once your FAFSA has been submitted and processed, our financial aid team will review the results with you during your financial aid advisement meeting.
At that time, we will explain your eligibility for grants, loans, or other funding options and help you understand your estimated financial aid package.
What does financial aid cover?
Financial aid can help cover the total cost of your education, including tuition and required student materials.
At Debutantes School of Beauty, your student kit and supplies are included in the overall program cost, and financial aid may be applied toward those expenses as well.
For some students, financial aid may cover most or even all of the program cost. For others, there may be a remaining balance that is paid through a monthly payment plan.
Every student’s financial aid package is different and depends on FAFSA eligibility. During your financial aid advisement meeting, we will review your aid results with you and explain exactly how it applies to your program costs.
Our goal is to make sure you understand your financial plan before enrollment so there are no surprises.
