At 17 years old, Danna walked into Debutantes School of Beauty as a shy and anxious high school senior just beginning her cosmetology journey. Like many students starting beauty school, she had big dreams — but she wasn’t fully sure yet what she was capable of becoming.

What she didn’t know then was that only two years later, she would already be living a version of the life she once quietly dreamed about.

Today, Danna is working inside a professional barbershop, continuing to build her craft and sharpen the clipper skills she fell in love with while attending Debutantes. But barbering wasn’t always something she openly talked about. It started as a quiet dream she kept to herself when she first enrolled.

When asked what her first-day beauty school self would think of the version of her today, Danna shared something powerful:

“She would be more than proud. I don’t think she would even believe it.”

That nervous teenager balancing high school and cosmetology school had no idea how much life could change in just two years. Through long days, learning curves, moments of doubt, and dedication to her goals, Danna discovered that success doesn’t happen overnight — it happens by continuing to show up for yourself, even before you fully believe in what’s possible.
